You would have to try very hard not to feel welcome at McPhabbs
Situated on Sauchiehall Street at Sandyford Place, 500 yards west of Charing Cross, it was established in 1997 and has rapidly gained one of the most eclectic clienteles in the city.
Local residents in Glasgow's historic Anderston ward have long known about the understated charms of this alehouse. They have been joined by many in the west end's business and student communities who have all come to cherish the sharp and friendly service and excellent food which offers astonishing value for money.
Throw in a motley mix of artists and musicians and you have a tavern whose reputation has travelled long and well.
The refereshingly unselfconscious mien of the bartenders (i.e. they are not up themselves) and a louche music vibe means this is a pub which wears a smile on its face and its hat at a jaunty angle.
And did we mention our dress code? Well, there isn't one. But if you take your cue from the ladies and gentlemen of the gantry you probably wouldn't get in anywhere else anyway.
McPhabbs is a free house and sells the best local and imported beers and a challenging swalette of quality spirits. Our wine cellar is stocked exclusively from vineyards which pass the stringent tests set by the McPhabb's somelier.
McPhabbs embraces sport. Every major football occasion in Scotland, England and Spain is shown on two very large screens and sometimes rugby too. And although football colours are not permitted partisan support for clubs is not frowned upon as long as respect is shown for those around you.
Free internet access is also available but we would ask you not to hog it and be aware of the website needs of other customers. We have free Wifi access. Please ask at the bar for details.
If you want to smoke cigarettes, cigars or pipes whilst you are drinking you may do so under our beer garden canopies located at the front and rear of the bar.
So come and join the McPhabbs community where our customers aren't just for a night but for a lifetime.
